St. Martin de Porres Knights of Peter Claver

The Knights of Peter Claver is an organization that was originally founded on November 7, 1909, in Mobile, Alabama as an organization to allow men of color membership in a Catholic fraternal society. Now it is an organization that welcomes all Catholics to join. Headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, the Order is comprised of over 18,000 Catholic family members and is a member of the International Alliance Catholic Knights.

The some of the primary goals of the Order include support for local parishes and bishops, the promotion of civic improvements and social justice, the awarding of scholarships, and the development of youth in a “positive, nurturing environment.”
